Piccies of Mary, doc and andy (fellow conspiritors) on Christmas Day at Bretonside Bus Shelter putting on Christmas Lunch for folks who had nowhere else to go.
‘thanks to everyone who contributed- we fed 30 or so it was a great atmosphere- we even had most of a samba band you wrapped 150 pressies- half went to our lot and half to shekinah there were some very grateful and overwhelmed people who recieved no other presents so thanks a lot – mary’

Last Sunday we remembered, along with the rest of the country, our war heroes. We remembered what Jesus did on the cross – the ultimate sarifice from the ultimate war hero – with communion.
And we remembered what Jesus continues to do with a succession of stories and thank yous from people who’s lives had been changed this past year by the work of a God who is alive, active and blessing people in many different ways.
This special remembrance service rates as on of the best church services I have been in, and reminds us all of the point of church – CHANGED LIVES. Ours and the people we connect with. Listen to these stories (below) – they are real, powerful and give glory to God.
The kids had a great time – cooking, craft, games and chilling out.
Thanks to the talented and generous JFK team who made it happen!

We have a new home for Sunday mornings! It is John Kitto Community College. Follow the links on the side bar for directions.
I am very excited about the potential of the partnership we are entering into with the school and can only commend them for how welcoming they have been and how hard they have worked to accommodate us – thanks guys!
To kick off the new term we will be looking at what sort of a church Plymouth Vineyard is, visiting our core values and exploring our vision. Good for all those who have joined recently and a reminder to those who have been around awhile of what we are about. Keeping us on track as it were.

Our last Sunday at Compton School was an unusual one to say the least. Building work had unexpectedly started and we had to decamp to the playground.
In the rain, we joined host of other congregations, past and present, who have met outdoors and are still doing so.
All credit to the team who have such get up and go ‘can do’ attitudes to make it happen, and the the brave souls who gave God the worship on wet seats. Pun intended.
Well done Reama, Teresa and Adrian. After some stirring testimonies they took the plunge as a public sign of their decision to follow Jesus.
On June 19th-21st we will be off to Woodlands (www.woodlandspark.com) for fun and frolics. I hope everyone will be able to join us but we will have church back at base (Compton School) at the usual time of 11am for those not partial to life under canvas. It will be a bit more low-key than normal but you can still expect the usual high quality coffee!

Big waves did not deter us as Ashleigh took the plunge today at Wembury.
Well done her!
We are planning more baptisms in June, so watch this space.
