One vision -new directions

For over 15 years, Children's Storehouse has supported thousands of children and families across Plymouth. What began as a single project has grown into a bigger vision.

Today, Storehouse Community is developing a family of initiatives designed to meet practical needs, reduce isolation, and strengthen community. You can read more about Children’s Storehouse and our new initiative The Grow Space below. Across the board, our work creates opportunities for people to access support, build relationships, and play their part in making Plymouth a place where everyone can thrive.

Your support helps us provide practical help today while investing in stronger, more connected communities for the future.

Together, we can ensure that more people in Plymouth experience hope, dignity, belonging and opportunity.

WHAT WE DO

For over 15 years, Children's Storehouse has been helping families across Plymouth by collecting and redistributing good-quality children's clothing, shoes toys and essential equipment for children aged 0-11.

The need is significant. Official figures show that around 11,000 children in Plymouth are living in poverty, with child poverty rates exceeding 35% in some neighbourhoods. [plymouth.gov.uk]

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, in 2025 we helped 543 children from 304 families, distributing more than 1,000 items of essential equipment, bags of clothing, shoes and toys.

Alongside this practical support, we also run a weekly Stay & Play session, providing a safe, welcoming space where children can play, carers can connect, and friendships can grow.

Whether it's a warm coat, a pair of shoes or a place to belong, we're committed to ensuring that local children and families receive the support they need to thrive.

Every donation helps us provide practical support, reduce waste, and ensure more children across Plymouth have the essentials they need to grow, play and thrive.

the vision

Share. Connect. Belong

Launching in November 2026 - The Grow Space will be a welcoming space where people can enjoy a tea or coffee, access practical support, donate items, volunteer, and connect with others.

Starting with clothing collections and volunteer sorting sessions, we're creating opportunities for people to spend time together, build friendships, and support one another.

At its heart, The Grow Space is about bringing people together. A place where everyone has something to contribute, where practical support is readily available, and where a stronger, more connected community can grow.
